Fabulous meal last night, although it got a bit hot when the wind died off – we’re booked in again tonight!
A very relaxing day today in Moissac, partly because it’s 36C in the shade! It’s hard to believe we were starting walks in 4 C only 3 weeks ago…
The part of Moissac we are in is very nice, between a canal and the river Tarn, with the river Gayonne just a bit further down. Moissac has a lovely abbey, L’Abbaye St-Pierre, with one of the best preserved cloisters in France, dating back to the 11th century. We spent the morning checking out the abbey and the adjacent old(ish) town, had a bite to eat, got some provisions and headed back to our hotel before it got too hot. Didn’t quite work – we had to wash the clothes we were in they got so sweaty!
Just waiting for the weather to cool down for dinner then I think an early start tomorrow – it’s supposed to be cooler but it’s not obvious what is going to make it so🥵.
PS – I found a map on the tourist office wall that shows the whole trail we are following – interesting, I thought we were heading south west but it almost look west on the map.
