A lovely stay in this very eclectic town – quite a small old town surrounded by fairly modern suburbs. A good night’s sleep following a lovely Thai dinner! We spent this morning looking over the castle, with origins pre-dating the Roman Empire before being restored and then taken from the Knights Templar.

Chinese for lunch followed by a couple of wines at different cafes. Just wondering now about pre-dinner drinks and dinner!

It looks like a nice section over the next few days through the Bierzo region before up and over into Galicia!

Walking up to the old town last night – it was 30c at 6pm!

Looking west towards the terrain we will pass through before reaching Galicia

A quick coffee after touring the castle
Iglesia Santa Maria de Encina in the town square, still very much in use as can be seen by the cars!
