A relatively short and mostly dry walk today to St Agnes, but quite windy again.

After climbing out of Perranporth, we took a slightly inland path to avoid the vertiginous path around the first headland – the path can be very narrow and with the wind a bit treacherous!

Most of today’s walk was through country affected by the tin mining industry – shafts, spoils and subsided levels – that had a totally different feel to the lovely scenery we’d had up till now.

A tough finish to the day with a steep downhill to Trellas Coombes followed by an equally steep uphill and downhill over the headland just before Trevaunance Cove, where we had a nice lunch watching surfers enjoy the break there.

After lunch a short walk up the hill to our accommodation at the lovely village of St Agnes.

Just after breakfast looking east – the beach we walked along yesterday is there!
A natural bridge near Droskyn Point
Looking west towards Cligga Head – the path is very close to the cliffs so we took a slightly more inland track!

This is the start of the section between Shag Rock and Pen a Gader with lots of remnants of the tin mining industry- in this case mine spoils.

Engine house or some other ruins near Cligga Head
Looking east from near Cligga Head towards Shag Rock where we had opted for the inland track rather than the narrow path along the cliffs
