I’m not sure what to write about today’s walk. On the positive side we had a wonderful day as far as the weather went – our first really sunny day and a pleasure to walk in with great views all day (when the path permitted). No rushing to beat the rain or worrying about where strong winds might catch us! The morning as far as St Loy’s Cove was just about as good as it gets!
On the slightly negative side, it took us over six hours to walk just over 14kms, a distance that would normally take between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 hours depending on the terrain. The pace was due to the really terrible quality and condition of the path after St Loy’s – poor routing through boulders and other obstacles, and at times extremely close to the cliff edge, and really allowing the path to degrade due to erosion and zero maintenance. A real first world problem but a bit annoying because it could be so much better!
All of that said Mousehole (mouwzel) is a picture perfect village and we have two days to make the next 12kms😀
