We are in, and have been since yesterday, a giant bay called Mount’s Bay, no doubt after St Michael’s Mount which is situated within it.

Today’s walk was a small one on the western side from Mousehole through Newlyn to just on the far side of Penzance. Unlike Mousehole, Newlyn and Penzance are very much working ports, are a bit worse for wear and tear and not nearly as pretty but it was (still is) another beautiful day in a great part of the world.

We were treated to views of dolphins playing just off the coast over breakfast and had a lovely, very picturesque walk on tarmac all the way today. There was almost no wind all day which I’m guessing is fairly rare and certainly has been during our stay!

A nice break at Newlyn for coffee then a couple of beers in downtown Penzance after dropping my backpack at our accommodation.

Tomorrow is also a short walk which will be great – I caught a cold in St Ives and am pretty well recovered but Alison has it now so yesterday’s walk took it out of her!
