Our destination today is another picture perfect fishing village, and our hotel is right in the water with views to the ocean and into the village.

We got away early for us just before 9am and took the road out to Church Cove, cutting out a bit of coastline but in the end probably helping to make it a great days walk yet again.

Too many coves and headlands today to count as we made our way quite quickly to Cadgwith, where everything was still closed and the to Kennack Sands, where we had an early lunch.

We expected a few ups and downs between Kennack Sands and Coverack but it was much more arduous than expected. Not so much the descents and ascents, but constant rocky outcrops that made it very hard to get any kind of rhythm into the walk.

In any event, Coverack was a sight for sore eyes (and feet) and we were happy to sit down for a beer before checking in.

We have a long day tomorrow, including two river crossings towards the end of the day – one requiring a low tide to ford and the next requiring a higher tide for the ferry to operate. We’re looking at options that are probable going to include a taxi for part of the way!

A rowing crew in the cove – we saw a boat at Cadgwith that could have been this one!
