Padstow is where we start our Cornwall Coast Path journey. The path itself starts a fair bit east of here at Bude but we’re only biting off a small (270 km) chunk and hoping we make it through without injuring something!
It is a typical tourist town (a bit like Bath where we stopped on the way here) – in as much as it swells with people during the middle of the day and calms down at night.
We really wanted to go to another fishing village east of here, Port Isaac, so we caught the ferry across the Camel River to Rock, only to find no buses to Port Isaac on Sundays!
We made do with a nice, albeit slightly wet, walk to Polzeath and back.
First day’s walk tomorrow- the weather should be a bit nicer (read drier!) with a bit of luck!

Enjoy Dave! Hope you have fair weather and lots of fun. Go easy on those elderly joints and muscles. 🤣😂
